स्वातंत्र्यवीर विनायक दामोदर सावरकर-भाषण

 

    आपल्या मातृभूमीवरील धैर्य, लवचिकता आणि अतूट प्रेमाचे प्रतीक असलेल्या व्यक्तीला आदरांजली वाहण्यासाठी आज मी तुमच्यासमोर उभा आहे - स्वातंत्र्यवीर विनायक दामोदर सावरकर. स्वातंत्र्यवीर, म्हणजे "स्वातंत्र्य सेनानी" ही पदवी भारतीय स्वातंत्र्यासाठी आपले जीवन समर्पित करणाऱ्या या उल्लेखनीय व्यक्तीला शोभणारी आहे.

 

     28 मे 1883 रोजी महाराष्ट्रातील भगूर या छोट्याशा गावात जन्मलेल्या सावरकरांचा प्रवास भारतीय इतिहासाच्या पानांवर अमिट छाप सोडणार होता. लहानपणापासूनच, त्याचा ज्वलंत आत्मा आणि बौद्धिक पराक्रम स्पष्ट दिसत होता, कारण तो ज्ञानाच्या शोधात आणि स्वातंत्र्याच्या शोधात उत्कटतेने मग्न होता.

 

     हिंदुत्वाच्या संकल्पनेवर सावरकरांच्या अतूट विश्वासाने-एकसंध हिंदू राष्ट्राच्या कल्पनेत रुजलेली विचारसरणी-स्वतंत्र आणि स्वतंत्र भारत पाहण्याच्या त्यांच्या इच्छेला चालना दिली. त्यांनी अशा समाजाची कल्पना केली जिथे प्रत्येक व्यक्ती, जात-पात किंवा पंथाची पर्वा न करता, सामायिक नशिबाच्या शोधात एकत्र राहतील. 

 

    सशक्त, स्वावलंबी भारताच्या त्यांच्या संकल्पनेने असंख्य देशभक्तांना प्रेरणा दिली आणि आजही ते कायम आहे.पण केवळ त्यांच्या वैचारिक योगदानामुळेच सावरकर खरे प्रतीक बनले नाहीत. प्रतिकूल परिस्थितीतही त्यांचे धैर्य आणि लवचिकता अतुलनीय होती. 

 

    अंदमान आणि निकोबार बेटांच्या कुप्रसिद्ध सेल्युलर जेलमध्ये आणि नंतर रत्नागिरीमध्ये अनेक वर्षे तुरुंगवास भोगून, तो जुलमी ब्रिटिश राजवटीविरुद्ध अवहेलनाचे प्रतीक म्हणून उदयास आला. त्याने आपल्या तुरुंगाच्या कोठडीच्या भिंतींना देशभक्तीच्या किल्ल्यामध्ये रूपांतरित केले, कविता, गाणी आणि लेख लिहून आपल्या देशबांधवांमध्ये स्वातंत्र्याची भावना जागृत केली.

 

     सावरकरांचे लेखन, विशेषत: त्यांच्या महान रचना, "भारतीय स्वातंत्र्याचे पहिले युद्ध" यांनी क्रांतीची घोषणा केली. सशस्त्र प्रतिकार शक्तीवर त्यांचा विश्वास होता, त्यांनी ब्रिटीश राजवटीविरुद्ध सशस्त्र संघर्षाचा पुरस्कार केला. त्यांच्या क्रांतिकारी आवेशाने आणि विचारांनी स्वातंत्र्य चळवळीचा पाया घातला ज्यामुळे अखेरीस भारताला स्वातंत्र्य मिळाले. 

 

     तथापि, स्वातंत्र्यवीर सावरकरांचे योगदान त्यांच्या क्रांतिकारी विचारांच्या आणि साहित्यिक पराक्रमाच्या पलीकडे आहे. ते एक बहुआयामी व्यक्तिमत्व होते ज्यांनी समाजसुधारणेसाठी अथक प्रयत्न केले. त्यांनी अस्पृश्यतेसारख्या सामाजिक दुष्कृत्यांचा कडाडून विरोध केला आणि महिलांच्या हक्कांसाठी समर्थन केले. 

 

    सावरकरांचा पुरोगामी आणि सर्वसमावेशक समाजाच्या कल्पनेवर ठाम विश्वास होता, जिथे प्रत्येक नागरिकाला समान संधी आणि अधिकार असतील.आपल्या बौद्धिक आणि सामाजिक योगदानाव्यतिरिक्त, सावरकर हे खरे राष्ट्रवादी होते, जे आपल्या देशबांधवांच्या कल्याणासाठी कटिबद्ध होते. त्यांनी जनसामान्यांचे उत्थान, शिक्षण प्रदान करणे आणि वंचितांना सक्षम करण्यासाठी सामाजिक कार्यक्रम आयोजित करण्यासाठी अथक कार्य केले. 

 

    भारताच्या स्वातंत्र्यासाठी आणि समाजाच्या उन्नतीसाठी त्यांनी केलेले समर्पण हे आपल्या सर्वांसाठी एक उज्ज्वल उदाहरण आहे. आज आपण स्वातंत्रवीर सावरकरांचे जीवन आणि वारसा लक्षात घेता, स्वातंत्र्य, एकता आणि प्रगती या आदर्शांप्रती असलेल्या त्यांच्या अतूट बांधिलकीतून प्रेरणा घेऊया. खऱ्या स्वातंत्र्याचा मार्ग केवळ परकीय राजवटीचा अभाव नसून अंतर्गत कलह, सामाजिक अन्याय आणि फूट यांचे निर्मूलन हा आहे हे लक्षात ठेवूया.

 

     सशक्त, सर्वसमावेशक आणि समृद्ध भारताचे त्यांचे स्वप्न पुढे नेणे हे सावरकरांच्या वारशाच्या वारसदारांवर अवलंबून आहे. प्रत्येक व्यक्तीला स्वप्न पाहण्याचे स्वातंत्र्य, अभिव्यक्ती स्वातंत्र्य आणि उत्कृष्टतेचे स्वातंत्र्य असा समाज निर्माण करण्यासाठी आपण काम केले पाहिजे. भारताच्या या महान सुपुत्राला आपण आदरांजली अर्पण करत असताना, आपण त्यांच्यासाठी उभे राहिलेल्या मूल्यांचे पालन करण्याची प्रतिज्ञा करूया.

 

     धैर्य, लवचिकता आणि आपल्या मातृभूमीबद्दलचे अतोनात प्रेम स्वीकारून आपण आपल्या आंतरिक स्वातंत्र्यवीरांना वाहिनी देऊ या. सावरकरांनी कल्पिलेला बदल होण्यासाठी आपण प्रयत्न करूया - एक असा बदल जो आपल्या राष्ट्राचे नशीब पुढील पिढ्यांसाठी आकार देईल.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Today, I stand before you to pay tribute to a man who epitomizes the spirit of courage, resilience, and unwavering love for his motherland—Swatantrveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Swatantrveer, meaning "freedom fighter," is a title befitting this remarkable individual who dedicated his life to the cause of Indian independence.

Born on May 28, 1883, in the small town of Bhagur, Maharashtra, Savarkar's journey was destined to leave an indelible mark on the pages of Indian history. From a young age, his fiery spirit and intellectual prowess were evident, as he passionately immersed himself in the pursuit of knowledge and the quest for freedom.

Savarkar's unwavering belief in the concept of Hindutva—an ideology rooted in the idea of a unified Hindu nation—fueled his desire to see a free and independent India. He envisioned a society where every individual, irrespective of caste or creed, would be united in the pursuit of a shared destiny. His vision of a strong, self-reliant India inspired countless patriots and continues to resonate even today.

But it was not just his ideological contributions that made Savarkar a true icon. His courage and resilience in the face of adversity were unparalleled. Enduring years of imprisonment, both in the infamous Cellular Jail in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and later in Ratnagiri, he emerged as a symbol of defiance against the oppressive British rule. He transformed the very walls of his prison cell into a fortress of patriotism, writing poems, songs, and articles that fueled the spirit of freedom among his fellow countrymen.

Savarkar's writings, particularly his magnum opus, "The First War of Indian Independence," served as a clarion call for revolution. He believed in the power of armed resistance, advocating for an armed struggle against the British Raj. His revolutionary zeal and ideas laid the groundwork for the freedom movement that would eventually lead to India's independence.

However, Swatantrveer Savarkar's contributions extend far beyond his revolutionary ideas and literary prowess. He was a multifaceted personality who tirelessly worked towards social reform. He vehemently opposed social evils such as untouchability and championed the cause of women's rights. Savarkar was a firm believer in the idea of a progressive and inclusive society, where every citizen would have equal opportunities and rights.

In addition to his intellectual and social contributions, Savarkar was a true nationalist, committed to the welfare of his fellow countrymen. He tirelessly worked towards uplifting the masses, providing education, and organizing social programs to empower the underprivileged. His dedication to the cause of India's independence and the betterment of society is a shining example for all of us.

Today, as we reflect on the life and legacy of Swatantrveer Savarkar, let us draw inspiration from his unwavering commitment to the ideals of freedom, unity, and progress. Let us remember that the path to true independence is not merely the absence of foreign rule but also the eradication of internal strife, social injustices, and divisions.
